Pre-Mixed Energy Gel Base Powder

When mixed with water, both have a carbohydrate composition of 70% complex carbohydrates and 30% simple sugars. The unflavored versions can be mixed and consumed as is, with no additional flavoring necessary if preferred. Alternatively, if you’re dying to make your own mojito flavor for an upcoming triathlon, the unflavored bases are ready for whatever concoction you dream up.

Pre-Mixed Energy Gel Base
(reflects Unflavored and Unflavored with Caffeine* bases)
Ingredients: maltodextrin, fructose, citric acid, sea salt
*The ‘Unflavored with Caffeine’ base additionally contains 50mg of caffeine per each 1 oz serving.
Put 1 cup (8 oz) of water in a heavy saucepan over medium high heat. Add the entire contents of gel powder to the pot and stir well. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until most of the white lumps have disappeared; the gel will have a thin consistency. Remove from heat. Add flavor(s) if desired and let cool for 20-30 minutes. It is normal for a film to develop on the surface while the heat dissipates. As it continues to cool, the gel base will thicken to the viscosity of honey. Refrigerate in an airtight container until needed.
